Backwoods Home magazine is a stellar publication. It's kind of like a family within a magazine cover. The writing style is overally informative and conversational. There's some quirkiness much like in every real family. I always learn something new, and feel welcomed in my journey to become more self sustaining. I often put into practice something I've learned because it's written about in such an engaging and down-to-earth way. The topics Backwoods Home writes about are not found in any other magazine I've come across. Other publications may touch on some of their niche, but nothing else comes close to Backwoods Home.Product details

Backwoods Home Magazine #131 Sept/Oct 2011 eBook Backwoods Home Magazine Reviews
After reading a few of these from I subscribed to the actual magazine. Very informative and educational. Love some of the articles.
Great info. The writing style is very informative. Backwoods home has recipes, tips on gardening, canning, fire arms, and hunting. Packed with information. This magazine and website has an endless bounty of reliable information! This is the best self sufficiency magazine still going I have seen in a while.
I love 'Backwoods Home' magazine. Full of useful information, instructions in canning, firearms and survival. Always look forward to my new issue.
Have to say, I can spend hours & hours going thru these magazines. They have great ideas & the letters from the readers are as much informative to read as some of the articles! Altho I'm sure I have the hard copy of this magazine, I love being able to read it on my anytime.
I have been reading Backwoods Home magazine for a few years and can't wait for each issue to arrive. This magazine is very helpful in many areas. I have asked questions of the authors and actually received answers. They explain how to do things in down to earth language, canning make easy, how to save and prepare for the possible need to barter and so much more, thanks guys for the edition, now I can read Backwoods without taking my treasured magazines out
I always enjoy this down-to-earth magazine. The article on extending the growing season for your veggie garden and the development of a sawmill to use native timber on your property were well worth the read. The rest well .....sometimes it's a little extreme.
